:: MEDIA LITERACY ::
Media literacy is the process of accessing, analyzing, evaluating and creating messages in a wide variety of media modes, genres and forms. Media literacy aims to enable people to be skillful creators and producers of media messages, both to facilitate an understanding as to the strengths and limitations of each medium, as well as to create independent media. Media literacy is an expanded conceptualization of literacy. By transforming the process of media consumption into an active and critical process, people gain greater awareness of the potential for misrepresentation and manipulation especially through commersial and public relations techniques, and understand the role of mass media and participatory media in constructing views of reality.
Critical Reflection 1 :
For FCM student, it is good to have media stereotype in studies because it helps to build individual characters to a better education. For instance, by transforming the media consumption into an active and critical process, people gain better awareness of the potential for misrepresentation and manipulation.
Critical Reflection 2 :
It helps student to understand the role of mass media and participatory media in constructing the views of reality for instance in television, people attend to capture the uniqueness of variety of the advertisement, reality shows and etc. The language of the media tend to make the viewers more understand in whatever race, religion, or country in just a second.
Personal Reflection :
As for this week class, i have no comments because it's HOLIDAY.
